Selena Gomez is an internationally famous actress and singer. Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place, one of the most prestigious projects that she has been a part of and has achieved the most successes, is her own project. Her real name is Selena Marie Gomez. Her birth date was the 22nd of July 1992 in Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett, and Ricardo Gomez are her parents. Selena's mother Amanda Cornett, who was sixteen years old when Selena was conceived. She was born in 2009 and Selena was cast in her first film in show business, playing Gianna in Barney and her Friends. This meant she was among many children to have played with Barney, the famous human-like pink dinosaur. Selena was involved in several episodes from seasons 7 and 8, between 2001 and 2003. Fun information: Demi Lovato, who was part of Barney's Friends in the same time period too, also worked with Selena. Selena Gomez left the show and auditioned in several other films and programs however, she did not achieve any luck. In 2003 she was given one small role Mini Spies 3: (Spy Kids 3D: Game Over), and in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire as Julie. She also was given the part in the role of Emily Grace Garcia in the 2007 Brain Zapped program for which she wrote a song.
